Marlyn F. Smith Overview
Mr. Smith practices in the areas of estate planning, probate law, and real estate law. He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Montgomery Bar Associations, and their Probate Law Sections.
Professionally, Mr. Smith has served as Chairman of the following Montgomery Bar Association and Chairman of the following committees: Orphans' Court Rules, Judiciary, Legal Aid and Junior Bar. He served as solicitor to the Bryn Athyn Borough Authority, the Upper Gwynedd Township Authority, the Upper Moreland-Hatboro Joint Sewer Authority, and for the Borough of Jenkintown. He served on the Board of Directors of The Academy of the New Church and Chaired its Legal Advisory Committee, as a Trustee of the Bryn Athyn Church, as a Director and Secretary of the Swedenborg Foundation, and as a volunteer on numerous other civic organization boards and committees. Mr. Smith's years of service to his community was recognized with the prestigious Glencairn Foundation Award in 2001.
Mr. Smith is now Of Counsel to High Swartz LLP. He was the firm's first Managing Partner from 1978 to 1993, and a Partner until early 2004. Earlier in his career, he served as Law Clerk to Judge George C. Corson of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas.
