Kimberly P. Killebrew Overview

Kimberly has over two decades of experience representing clients in family law matters.  She is sympathetic and supportive of child-related controversies, having been a certified kindergarten teacher before she attended law school, and a visiting Associate Judge in Dallas County in the family law courts.  She is excellent with the child witness and with helping parents through the difficulties of a family break-up. 

Kimberly is a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom and in the community.  She graduated from Texas Tech University Cum Laude, and was a member of the honors fraternity in Law School.  She is admitted to practice in the all of the State Courts of Texas, as well as the Federal District Courts of the Northern District of Texas and the Federal District Courts of the Eastern District of Texas.

She has practiced extensively in the area of family law in Denton, Collin, Dallas, Tarrant and the surrounding counties in the metroplex in addition to Harris, Bexar, Ector, Midland and Lubbock counties.  Her focus is on helping clients through the stressful experience of divorce and custody issues.  Kimberly is also a certified mediator. 

Kimberly lives in Mc Kinney and is very active in the Collin County Bench Bar Foundation, the Plano Bar Association and the Frisco Bar Association. She has earned several awards from the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association.  Kimberly was awarded the Outstanding Young Lawyer of Collin County for service to the profession in 1999-2000 and received  a Service Star Award from the Collin County Bar Association in 1999.     Kimberly believes in giving her time back to the community, volunteering her time to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Collin County Women's Leadership Luncheon committee, the Racing to a Cure committee, and Legal Services of Northwest Texas at their clinics in Allen and Plano.  Kimberly is currently the chair of the Collin County Bench Bar Foundation, a director on the Plano Bar Association board, the treasurer of the Frisco Bar Association and the chair of the 2010 Denton City Bench Bar committee.  She is also on the Collin City National Adoption Day Planning committee.   

Kimberly is a member of the State Bar of Texas, State Bar of Texas Family Law Section, Collin County Bench Bar Foundation, Collin County Young Lawyers Association, Plano Bar Association, Frisco Bar Association, Dallas Women's Lawyers Association and the Eastern District Bar Association.
