Kathryn P. Jones

     Kathryn P. Jones earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History (with honors) from the University of Florida in 2002, and her Juris Doctor degree (with honors) from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2005. As an undergraduate, Kathryn was a member of several University of Florida musical ensembles, participated in volunteer activities through Alpha Phi Omega, and earned minors in both business and Piano Performance. Kathryn was also made a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. While in law school, Kathryn was actively involved as a student supervisor for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, and served as an extern for the Honorable Robert B. Roundtree, Jr. of the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida. Kathryn was also a member of the John Marshall Bar Association and the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association.

     Kathryn is admitted to practice law in the state of Florida and the Middle District of Florida She practices in the area of corporate law and is a member of the Florida Bar's Tax and Business Law Sections, and the American Bar Association.  Since joining Pohl & Short in 2005, Kathryn has handled asset and stock acquisition and disposition transactions, (including the preparation and review of related loan and security agreements and transfer documents), primarily for closely-held companies. Kathryn has also handled employment matters, federal and state regulatory matters, federal and state tax matters, corporate reorganizations, corporate governance issues, corporate separations, and not-for-profit corporate matters. Kathryn has also prepared and reviewed operating agreements, shareholder agreements and franchise agreements.

     In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys traveling, attending musical events, watching Gator sports and spending time with her loved ones. Kathryn grew up in Fort Myers, Florida, and currently resides in Orlando with her husband, Michael, and their two dogs.
