Jonathan M. Bowne is a licensed California attorney whose practice primarily emphasizes the litigation of construction and real estate disputes, though court actions, mediation, and arbitration. He also performs transactional work on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Bowne represents and advises general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, developers, project owners, design professionals, and sureties relative to a wide range of construction disputes, including mechanic's liens, stop notices, bond claims, construction and design defects, project delays, change orders disputes and claims, unforeseen site conditions, contractor's license issues, and bid protests. He also helps clients relative to insurance coverage and indemnity issues.
Mr. Bowne is familiar with the common roadblocks faced during all phases of public and private works projects, including commercial, industrial, residential, and infrastructure projects.
Mr. Bowne has negotiated as lead counsel dozens of settlements on behalf of his clients, and prevailed in both court trials and arbitrations.
Mr. Bowne has also drafted and reviewed a variety of construction documents, including general and subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
Mr. Bowne has conducted numerous seminars on construction law issues to industry groups, and regularly publishes articles and blog postings on legal issues relevant to the building community.
