Jake Collier Overview
Jake Collier served as Judge of the 158th Judicial District Court in Denton County for 8 years. While serving as District Court Judge, he presided over more than 100 jury trials, more than 1000 non jury trials and thousands of adversary hearings. Jake was voted "MOST QUALIFIED DISTRICT JUDGE" by the Denton County Bar Association in all seven Judicial Qualifications Polls during his tenure. Jake has been a Denton County Lawyer since 1969 and is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has served as President of the Denton County Bar Association and the Denton County Family Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, a founding member of the Family Law Section of the Denton County Bar Association and a founding member of the Denton County Collaborative Family Law Association. Jake has been a Qualified Mediator by State Bar of Texas since 1994 and served as Municipal Judge in Lewisville from 1973 -1979.
A former Captain in the U.S. Marine Corp, Jake served on numerous regional and local boards and committees.
