Summary

Lawyer Overview

Attorney Hope C. Button focuses her practice of law at Denner Pellegrino, LLP, Counselors At Law, on criminal defense, family law, civil litigation and appellate issues. Attorney Button earned her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law and her B.A. in History, cum laude from Mount Holyoke College. She began her legal career as an associate with a small Amherst, Massachusetts law firm before opening her solo practice with offices in Northampton, and Worcester, Massachusetts. During her early legal career she practiced primarily family, landlord/tenant and real estate law. Later, as a solo practitioner, she developed an extensive civil and criminal litigation practice.

In addition to civil and criminal litigation, Attorney Button has vast experience as an appellate attorney for both civil and criminal matters. She has represented both appellants and appellees before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Federal First Circuit Court of Appeals. Throughout her practice, whether defending the criminally accused, litigating a contentious divorce, or researching and preparing appellate briefs, she exhibits an ability to zealously represent her clients with the highest degree of competence and professionalism. Her sense of balance is evident in counterpoint to that zealousness, when she quotes Sir Winston Churchill, “In my belief, you cannot deal with the most serious things in the world unless you also understand the most amusing.”

She is admitted to practice before the state courts of Massachusetts and Connecticut, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Hampden County Bar Association, Hampshire County Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. She is an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Chicopee, Massachusetts where she serves as treasurer and vestry member.
