David Connally Martin Overview

After graduation from Baylor University in 2003, David Martin worked in the residential construction industry as a Construction Manager for two national homebuilding companies. Having grown up around the law, he eventually decided on a career change and found himself in law school. During law school, he worked with his father, Aubrey D. Martin, Jr., defending and performing transactional work for homebuilder clients. He then clerked with Zukowski, Bresenhan & Sinex, L.L.P. during the Summer of 2008, during which time he learned the basics of an oil and gas practice, working primarily on title examination work. After graduation and the bar exam, he started with the firm full time, where he continues his father's real estate practice, as well as works on various other civil litigation and oil and gas matters.

Outside of work, David Martin enjoys pursuing a wide range of activities, including mountain and road cycling, as well as running. He has recently dabbled in swimming and has begun to compete in triathlons. While he enjoys the benefits of these activities himself, he also enjoys using these activities to help raise awareness for certain conditions, and he has participated in the MS 150 Houston to Austin bike ride for three years, and has been involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team-In-Training program. He also lets out his inner Texan every spring when he volunteers on the Gatekeepers Committee of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
