Benjamin S. Genshaft Overview
Mr. Genshaft is a real estate and transactional attorney, assisting clients throughout Colorado. He is a Pitkin County Planning and Zoning Commissioner, currently working on the Aspen Area Community Plan, a character based community plan that will help guide decision-making by the Aspen City Council and Pitkin County Commissioners.
Before joining Thomas Genshaft, Mr. Genshaft served as in-house counsel for an internationally recognized resort development company. Mr. Genshaft focuses on helping clients acquire and develop commercial and residential real estate properties; form and understand common interest communities under the Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act; draft condominium declarations and related documents; complete and submit subdivision registration applications; prepare sales and project documents for residential and resort developers; obtain entitlements and approvals for new real estate projects; lease residential and commercial properties.
Mr. Genshaft's corporate experience covers forming corporate entities related to real estate projects and prepare related corporate documents; comply with Colorado real estate brokerage and licensing laws; handle real estate foreclosures and work-outs; pursue and defend real estate liens; establish, manage and operate residential homeowner associations; and handle general corporate transaction matters. Mr. Genshaft is known for his approachable demeanor, negotiating expertise and complex real estate transactions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Mr. Genshaft received his B.A. in Environmental Studies and Philosophy from the University of Vermont and received his J.D., cum laude, from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Mr. Genshaft was a member, and served as the publisher and executive board member, of the Case Western Law Review.
