Amber Rechner Overview

"The integrity of KoonsFuller lawyers and the high level of client sophistication have gained this firm an enviable reputation."

Concentrating on family law has given Amber Rechner the opportunity to use her psychology background to help people at "the worst time of their lives."

The Wyoming native studied psychology, sociology and criminal justice as an undergraduate at the University of Wyoming, earning her bachelor's degree in 2006, Cum Laude, with an overall grade point average of 3.906 on a four-point scale. She attended the school on a Presidential Scholarship, was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Kappa Delta honor societies and made the President's and Dean's Lists each semester.

Ms. Rechner worked as program manager for a Wyoming rehabilitation center, supervising case managers in the care of mentally handicapped and psychologically disturbed individuals.

She came back to Texas to attend Baylor University Law School, also on a full scholarship. Ms. Rechner prepared for her position in family law as a member of the mock trial national team, the First Amendment national moot court team and the national client counseling team. She was a member of the Order of Barristers and received the 2008-2009 Abner V. McCall Evidence Award.

She earned her J.D., Cum Laude, in 2009. While at Baylor, Ms. Rechner worked as a graduate research assistant for Professor Jim Underwood, did briefing and drafting work for Professor James Wren, clerked in two Dallas law firms and interned at the McLennan County District Attorney's Office.

Blessed with compassion, persistence and a good work ethic, Ms. Rechner enjoys family law because "it allows me to encounter all types of law and have a practice that will vary every day."

She is also a lover of the outdoors and of sports activities, having spent much of her spare time hunting, fishing, dancing, swimming and playing basketball and watching hockey and football. She also enjoys reading, teaching and volunteering in local schools.
