AJ Bhowmik Overview
Background Information
A.J. was born in Northridge, California on February 20, 1980. He received his B.A. in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts from the University of California at San Diego in 2002 and then proceeded to the University of San Diego School of Law, earning his J.D. in 2006. While in Law School, A.J. was awarded a scholarship from the Warren Family Endowment, was a member of the International Law Journal, and also received the Outstanding Oral Advocacy Award in his first year lawyering skills class. He was admitted to the California State Bar in January of 2007.
A.J. says: "I've always been grateful for the opportunities I've had to help others and pursue just causes. As a teenager, I was active in the Boy Scouts of America. In pursuing my goal of achieving the Eagle Scout rank, I was blessed with many chances to work for the common good.
San Diego Employment Lawyers
One major problem in California is that commissioned sales employees are not paid for all of the commissions that they earn. The pattern of violations usually transpires in a similar fashion: the commissioned employees do everything that they need to do in order to get the commission but they leave the company before they are paid the commission. Despite the fact that the employees completed all of the necessary work to receive the commission, the employer refuses to pay them the commission. If this pattern of conduct sounds familiar, contact an experienced employment law attorney at Blumenthal, Nordrehaug & Bhowmik today. We help employees in the Southern District of California as well as the Northern District of California recover unpaid commissions.
Wrongful Termination and Unpaid Wage Claims for Medical and Science Sales Reps
There are two sales exemptions that employers in California use to avoid paying employees overtime wages: (1) The Inside Sales Exemption and (2) The Outside Sales Exemption. Before those different exemption tests are met, there are two initial inquiries. First, is the employee involved principally in selling a product or service, which does not include making the product or rendering the service? The second inquiry is whether the amount of their compensation is a percent of the price of the product or service? If the answer to either one of these questions is no, contact an experience San Jose Employment Lawyers today for a free consultation.
Pharmaceutial Sales Reps Cheated Out of Overtime Pay? Call 877-852-3912 for Advice
Pharmaceutical Sales Reps that promote prescription brand name drugs usually satisfy the first requirement of this exemption in that they are "outside" at doctors offices and pharmacies. However, because they are not actually making the sales but instead trying to get a doctor to make a non-binding promise to prescribe certain prescription drugs, they may not qualify for the exemption. If you are a prescription drug salesperson and get paid the same amount of money every week even when you work more than 40 hours, contact Blumenthal, Nordrehaug & Bhowmik for a free consultation.

Contact our San Jose Employment Lawyers for a free consultation about your employment law rights today.
