Stephen J. Livens, our firm's founding attorney, has more than 20 years of experience with estate planning and elder law. He earned an MBA and is a certified public accountant (CPA) with experience addressing income, gift and estate tax implications of wealth transfers. Mr. Livens has written three books on the subjects of estate planning and elder law: "Generations: Planning Your Legacy"; "Ways and Means -- Understanding Retirement Plans"; and "Love, Money and Control". Also, he has been named as one of the top estate planning attorneys in the DFW area by Fort Worth, Texas magazine.

In addition to handling estate planning and elder law issues, our firm is a recognized resource for Medicaid and VA benefit assistance. Our team includes three former Medicaid caseworkers who have 50 years of combined experience with Medicaid and governmental benefits. Last year, we filed hundreds of Medicaid and VA applications and were successful on all of them. Further, Mr. Livens taught continuing legal education courses about Medicaid qualifications to more than 200 social workers and nursing home staff members. Also, he is an accredited attorney for VA benefits.
