Ann Gottesman is a compassionate and experienced criminal and DUI defense attorney who truly cares about her clients. For the past 10 years she has tirelessly fought to protect her clients from the well-funded government machine we call the "Justice System". While justice is supposed to be the goal in every court case, many find themselves lost and scared in an unforgiving bureaucratic system after being arrested or accused of a crime. Having a caring, dedicated defense attorney fighting to protect your reputation and freedom can make all the difference in a case that may at first seem hopeless. Attorney Ann Gottesman gets to know her clients as real people, and treats them they way she would want to be treated. Unlike large firms, Ann won't hand off your case to an inexperienced associate: she handles each case personally, and if she can not dedicate herself 100 percent to your case, she will not take your case.
"My clients know that I carefully prepare for each court case, and on most misdemeanor cases such as DUIs and theft offenses, I can usually appear in court without the client having to miss work to attend. When I am retained, the first thing I do is subpoena all the evidence or request such evidence through a discovery motion in court. Evidence in a criminal case does not just include the police report. Other evidence exists which is typically not given to the defense unless it is specifically requested. Evidence such as calibration logs and accuracy logs of a breath machine (in a DUI case, for example), police dispatch logs, belt recordings, police vehicle dash cameras, jail video, witness statements, lab test results, etc... are examples of additional evidence that could prove crucial to building a defense.
Unlike many other Los Angeles and Pasadena criminal defense attorneys, I make myself available to my clients 7 days a week and in the evenings, so I'm available to my clients when they have questions and concerns about their case. I understand that being charged with a crime is a frightening and stressful experience. I therefore make it my mission to ensure my clients are informed promptly of every update and can reach me quickly when they have questions.
Whether I'm representing a client for a petty theft shoplifting charge, a misdemeanor DUI or drug case, a domestic violence case, or a felony case involving serious sentencing enhancements, I treat each case as a priority. I realize that no matter what criminal charge my client is facing, that case is the most important issue in my client's life. When I can relieve a client's stress, obtain a great result in court and preserve my clients' freedom, I feel a great sense of reward and accomplishment. I always work with my goal in mind to treat my clients the way I would want to be treated-with compassion and devotion to their case."
