If you are like most folks, you have worked hard, probably most of your adult life, and been blessed to accumulate various assets. Have you created your estate plan yet? Did you know that if you don't have an estate plan, the Alabama Legislature will make one for you -- and most likely a significant portion of your hard-earned money will go to the taxman, the State, a nursing home, other potential creditors, and not to your intended heirs?

The time to plan your estate is now, before it is too late; before an untimely accident or your death brings such troubles for your heirs and loved ones! The law firm of Herbert E. "Chip" Browder, LLC, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, can help you create an estate plan that protects your assets, including business assets, and that proactively addresses any problematic issues that could potentially sideline your legacy goals.

For almost 20 years, attorney Chip Browder has been helping individuals and families plan their estates, protect their hard-earned assets, navigate through probate and elder law issues in the Tuscaloosa, Jasper, Double Springs, Fayette, Selma, and Decatur areas and in surrounding Alabama counties. We also assist with other client issues involving tax law, including IRS dispute resolution, and business and commercial law for family-owned businesses and employee benefits issues. We stand ready to assist clients in achieving their legacy goals and protecting their assets by the use of wills, trusts and limited liability companies. We have also represented a significant number of clients in trust and probate administrations, as well as family disputes involving such matters.

In addition to his degrees from the University of Alabama and New York University Schools of Law, Chip has an extensive business background, having managed his family's hardwood timber and veneer business prior to returning to the law. Chip holds an LL.M. in Taxation from NYU. He has conducted lectures on estates, trusts and will drafting and has been a frequent speaker on estate and asset protection planning, elder law and "special needs" trusts at the University of Alabama's School of Law and local civic group gatherings.

If you do not have a current legal advisor, or your present counsel does not regularly handle such matters, we would welcome the opportunity to sit down with you and discuss how you and your family might benefit from implementing an overall, comprehensive estate and asset-protection plan; and we routinely work with your local attorney and financial advisor in implementing such plans for you.

The law firm of Herbert E. "Chip" Browder, LLC, has office hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with evening and Saturday morning hours by special appointment. Mr. Browder offers a free initial consultation where he will review and offer suggestions for any current documents or Will you might have in place at no charge.
