Additionally, we receive a great deal of referral work from trusted attorneys and firms with whom we have developed relationships. Our firm is composed of attorneys practicing in the Tri-Cities region of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia (Bristol, Tennessee-Virginia; Johnson City and Kingsport, Tennessee; Abingdon, Virginia) from its base in Bristol, a single community forming two cities in two different states. The firm's attorneys live in Virginia and Tennessee and are involved in the social, civic and political life of the region.

Most of the firm's lawyers are admitted to practice in both Tennessee and Virginia state courts. The firm handles cases in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia in both state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. EL&M attorneys also have extensive experience practicing before state and federal administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
