Estate Planning / Elder Law Overview

Our practice focuses largely on the concerns of older citizens. Their top concerns are their families and their assets. "Do I need a will or a trust?" or "If I go into a nursing home what happens to the rest of my assets?"

We’re Sara and Louis Andrew, and we were both born here in Fond du Lac. We love this part of Wisconsin and understand wanting to pass this good life on to family.

The two of us became interested in elder law because we genuinely like the older people we know. We help them chart a safe pathway through probate. We redo their do-it-yourself wills so that they will work. We explain trusts to them, so their possessions are not gobbled up by taxes. We explain asset protection, keeping your children’s inheritance from being taken by creditors. We do guardianship and power of attorney work, and living wills.

It is interesting to us that everyone’s estate problems are different. That’s why our first step is to sit down for a comprehensive initial consultation that lists assets, liabilities, income and situations facing the family. The art of estate planning is to take this knowledge and fashion it into a set of directions that can be followed after death.

Throughout, our approach at Andrew Law Offices, S.C. is to provide clear guidance and to charge flat fees, so there are no surprises. If you are thinking about your estate and what will become of it, or you are concerned on your parents’ behalf, we want to invite you in for a talk, to set your mind to rest.
