In November 2011, Attorney Brian Boal left his job to start a different kind of law practice based on his belief that lawyers are capable of providing a higher level of professional service to their clients. The following describes his belief and the ideals setting Boal Law Firm, P.C. apart from other Colorado law practices:

Client Communication: It is no secret that, in a majority of conventional law firms, attorneys practice law behind a veil of paralegals, secretaries, and other support staff who are often charged with the responsibility of addressing the clients' questions and concerns about their case(s). In this type of situation, it is not uncommon for clients to have only a single opportunity to personally discuss their case with an actual licensed attorney, and sometimes no opportunity whatsoever prior to the court date. Nevertheless, these conventional firms maintain that the walls between the attorney and the client are a necessary evil of running an efficient and profitable law practice.

Boal Law Firm disagrees and contends that technology allows modern day attorneys to provide better legal service by being better informed by maintaining an open line of direct communication between client and attorney. You won't be passed off to a paralegal or other staff member with little or no knowledge about your case who is not always qualified to answer your questions.

Boal Law Firm uses the latest technology and custom information management systems to make one-on-one communication between client and attorney a priority and a reality for each and every client it serves. Brian Boal personally responds to every inquiry, regardless of whether it involves the most important decision in your case or just a simple reminder of your next court date.

Caseload: Whether it's final orders in a divorce or just a speeding ticket, every case takes time and preparation. Like many other professionals, lawyers are often stretched incredibly thin, having too many clients and too few hours in a day to give every client's case the attention it requires. As a result, deadlines are missed and opportunities are lost to make the best possible case for the client. In the end, even the brightest, most experienced attorney who has no time to invest in your case and cannot develop familiarity with the unique issues your case presents, can be only marginally effective at best.

At Boal Law Firm, you and your case will never be designated low priority or receive the short shift. As a brand new law practice, Boal Law Firm is most concerned with your satisfaction as a client and positive recommendation to others, not the amount of money you spend in legal fees. Brian Boal does this by carefully monitoring his caseload so as not to take on more clients than he can effectively represent and zealously advocate for. If for some reason Brian is unable to meet this standard, he will honestly advise you of as much and refer you to a qualified attorney who is capable of representing you.

Consideration of Client-Specific Issues: Should you find yourself needing a lawyer, chances are it is not your best moment or finest hour. The simple fact is that as human beings we all make mistakes and/or find ourselves in situations that are beyond our control. Rarely does a person enjoy going to court or dealing with the many complicated issues in a court case. In times like these, the mental and emotional strain on the client is often the worst part of the entire ordeal. As lawyers, we sometimes forget that legal matters which seem routine and normal to us can be a tremendous source of stress, frustration, and turmoil for our clients, not to mention their family and friends.

Boal Law Firm has made a commitment to remembering first and foremost, clients are people first, not just case files. The human component and other factors unique to your case are a priority at Boal Law Firm. As a paying client you have the right to be heard, and information that many lawyers dismiss as irrelevant may very well end up being crucial to your case and/or defense.

Attorney Brian Boal will listen to everything you have to say, answer all of your questions, and address all of your concerns while providing you with his experienced and unbiased legal advice. Moreover, Brian will take the extra time to ensure that you understand the reasons and logic behind the advice he is giving you.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:
Comfort Level - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
Credentials - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
Cost - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
City - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?
