Gardner Law Office provides experienced, versatile representation in all areas of family law. The firm is able to adapt its style according to the goals of the client. For instance, in cases where the parties have taken a contentious stance, the lawyers of Gardner Law Office are able to provide aggressive representation in and out of the courtroom. On the other hand, when the parties are willing to work together to arrive at an agreement, the lawyers will help to seek common ground whenever possible. Regardless of the approach, the lawyers of Gardner Law Office will focus on protecting the clients' rights and accomplishing their objectives.

Representing Parents in International and Interstate Custody Disputes

Attorney Linda Shay Gardner has practiced law since 1995. In that time she has worked with or advised on approximately 200 cases involving the Hague Convention and family abduction. In addition, she is a regular presenter and expert witness in cases involving international child disputes. She consults with the Office of Children's Issues in the United States State Department regarding these cases, and is an advisor to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Very few lawyers in the United States are able to match her experience in this field of law. She is also recognized by the American Bar Association's ICAAN project to provide referrals in abduction cases.

The firm also represents juveniles and adults facing criminal charges in Magistrate Court. Attorney Glenn Smith heads the firm's practice in this area.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:
Comfort Level - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
Credentials - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
Cost - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
City - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?
