do Campo & Thornton, p.a. was founded in 2008 by two Harvard Law graduates who had worked together earlier in their careers at a prestigious criminal and civil litigation boutique law firm, and recognized in each other a commitment to justice and a talent and passion for winning.

In their first year together, they have achieved remarkable success, winning the Most Effective Lawyers 2008 Award from the Daily Business Review.

With more than 60 jury trials under his belt, Orlando do Campo is a seasoned trial attorney with a proven track record of success.  He has earned a reputation as a fierce defender of his clients’ rights and a convincing courtroom advocate.  He was recognized with the 2008 Ronnie Thaxton Award for Excellence in Advocacy in Federal Criminal Defense, an honor bestowed on only a few defense lawyers each year.  Mr. do Campo’s tenacity stems from his firm belief in the bedrock principle that each individual accused of a crime should receive the strongest advocacy possible against the power of the State.  He considers it a high honor to represent individuals at the time of their greatest need.  His high profile defenses include representing the alleged “Dirty Bomber” Jose Padilla on terrorism charges, and alleged Cuban spies on espionage charges.  He combines his true belief that there can be no rest when it comes to the defense of liberty with a deep and personal knowledge of the workings of the courts, the justice system, and the individuals who run them.

Mr. do Campo’s extensive trial experience serves as a credible threat to civil litigation opponents of the firm:  if they do not offer a favorable settlement, they will face trial.
