Mr. Shaffer was born and raised in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; a small town in Southern Middle Tennessee located 20 miles from the Alabama border.  He graduated from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama in 1987.  He graduated from Stetson University's Law School in 1991.   

Mr. Shaffer resides with his family in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida in Walton County, Florida.  Attorney Shaffer is married to the love of his life, Kristy Carden Shaffer, whom he met in while they were both attending law school at Stetson University's College of Law.  Kristy is a life long resident of Florida. 

They have two children; Sarah (13) and Rip (12), named after William T. Shaffer's hero Cal Ripken, Jr.  Both their children are home educated.  In the past, Mr. Shaffer has volunteered pro bono legal services to the Home School Legal Defense Fund. The Shaffer's are all active members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Valparaiso, Florida in Okaloosa County, Florida.

When not diligently representing Florida panhandle area clients in accident/injury, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and lemon law cases, William Shaffer enjoys watching Atlanta Braves baseball, camping, fishing, and generally spending time with his family.
