Established in May of 2007, Lakeman & Peagler, LLC represents individuals and businesses in both the prosecution and defense of lawsuits throughout Alabama.  The firm also performs a large volume of both residential and commercial real estate transactions.  More specifically, Lakeman & Peagler, LLC handles cases in the areas of corporate and business litigation, real estate, insurance law, workers' compensation, retaliatory discharge, general liability, premises liability, employment law, personal injury, products liability, criminal law, landlord tenant, and construction litigation.  Lastly, the firm represents both plaintiffs and defendants in products liability, intentional tort liability, insurance fraud, premises liability and other various areas of personal injury matters.
 
D. Barron Lakeman
Partner

Barron, a resident of Birmingham for more than 25 years, received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law where he served as Vice President of the Defense Lawyers Association, was a member of the Farrah Law Society, and clerked for three different Birmingham civil defense firms.  Barron also holds a B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Finance from Auburn University.  Barron is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, Alabama Bar Association and is admitted to practice in all Alabama State Courts as well as the United States Federal Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama.  Barron's approach will focus on providing his clients with the personal service of a small firm while simultaneously providing large firm services for a wide range of legal matters.

Zachary J. Peagler
Partner

Zach, who has resided in Birmingham for the past twenty years, earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law where he was a member of the Defense Lawyers Association, studied abroad at the Australian National University, was a research assistant to a criminal law professor, and clerked for a Birmingham based civil defense firm.  Zach also holds a B.A. in Philosophy, with a minor in General Business from Auburn University.  Prior to attending law school, Zach worked as a Senior Account Executive for BellSouth Business Systems.  Zach is admitted to practice in all Alabama State Courts as well as the United States Federal Court for the Northern District of Alabama.  In line with the firm mission, Zach's practice focuses on providing the individual care and attention of a small firm while having the resources to meet the ever-changing needs of his clientele.
