Since 1984, our firm's founding attorney, D. Scott Hurley, has successfully handled difficult trial work and achieved many great successes. Before founding The Hurley Law Firm, P.C., Scott worked in three separate partnerships, and has gained such a reputation that other attorneys frequently enlist his services for especially difficult litigation against formidable opponents. Mr. Hurley has launched lawsuits against the State of Tennessee, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the U.S. Postal Service, and numerous Fortune 500 companies.

Mr. Hurley teaches several seminars every year on trial preparation and trial techniques, serving as a faculty member for the National Business Institute. He is an associate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation-only nationwide organization of lawyers with extensive and distinguished trial experience. He is also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, The Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, The American Bar Association, The Tennessee Bar Association, and The Knoxville Bar Association.

In the past, Mr. Hurley served as a member of the board of trustees for Lincoln Memorial University, the president of the National Alumni Association for Lincoln Memorial University, and as a member of the board of directors of the Citizens Bank of Sneedville. He is also a board member in a number of charitable organizations, and is active in church and social organizations in the Knoxville area.

We maintain a comfortable office environment for our clients. The Hurley Law Firm, P.C., has a total of six staff members. Our associate attorney, Ryan Shamblin, graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law, and adds great value to our practice. To better serve our personal injury clients, we have an experienced registered nurse, licensed in the State of Tennessee, Ladonna Hurley. There tends to be little turnover in our office; one of our office assistants has been with Mr. Hurley for 20 years and another has stayed with us for the past 10 years.
