At the Nawrocki Center for Elder Law, Special Needs & Disability Planning we work hard to provide a full range of legal services to families.

We represent individuals that are contemplating divorce, or being sued for divorce by their spouse. We help individuals and families reach agreements on the difficult issues that accompany divorce, such as child support, custody and visitation of the children, spousal maintenance, and division of marital assets. We also continue help our clients with modifications of these agreements as circumstances change.

We also work with individuals and families to plan for their futures with comprehensive estate planning services. Through wills and trusts we can work to protect your property from over-taxation and see that it is distributed according to your wishes. No matter how large or small your estate, having a will can prevent family disputes, tax burdens, and court intervention into the distribution of your assets. We will help you protect all that for which you have worked so hard and ensure that your loved ones are provided for.

As a compliment to our estate planning practice, we also represent individuals, families, and businesses in real estate transactions. Whether you are buying, selling, or refinancing a home mortgage, or entering into a commercial purchases, sale, or lease, we will make sure that you enjoy a smooth and efficient transaction.

Medical problems and a loss of independence are often unfortunate accompaniments to aging. When a family member begins to require long-term or full-time nursing home care, what to do about protecting property and assets can become complicated. There are a lot of myths out there about how to protect property and when to give property away in order to legally qualify for Medicaid benefits. If you are facing a parent, grandparent, or spouse entering a nursing home, it is essential that you consult an experienced and knowledgeable elder law attorney before acting upon rumors about liquidating assets. Every family is different and the rules of Medicaid qualification to not apply equally to every situation. We take the time to examine your particular needs and educate you and your family on the best course of action. We also urge you to consult us before the need arises so we can help you plan for this eventuality. The more time we have to plan for a loss of independence the better we can protect your assets.

We strive to provide a full service elder and family law practice. If you have questions about how we can be of service to you and your family, or you would like to schedule and consultation to discuss our services, please do not hesitate to contact us anytime.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:
Comfort Level - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
Credentials - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
Cost - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
City - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?
