Air Force and returned to graduate from Washington and Lee School of Law, after which he went into trial practice with his father. During that time, Mr. Kelsey, Jr. earned valuable experience with his father who was a notable successful attorney up and down the east coast.

Mr. Kelsey was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1971 and he has been admitted to and practices in all the State and Federal Courts, including the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has also been admitted to the United States Court of Veterans Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Claims and in the past has been a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, American Bar Association, and numerous professional and civic organizations.
