Posner & Rosen was established in Los Angles in 1985 as a result of the partnership between Michael Posner and Howard Z. Rosen. Mr. Posner and Mr. Rosen each have over 30 years of experience representing employees and labor unions in labor and employment matters. Both have spoken frequently at seminars sponsored by the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the American Arbitration Association. Both attorneys have written extensively on the subject of labor and employment law.

The firm practices exclusively in the area of employment law. Through tenacity and creativity, Posner & Rosen has helped thousands of employees, from hourly employees to highly paid corporate executives, achieve outstanding results in every area of employment law, including wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, and wage and hour disputes. Posner & Rosen is extremely proud of its achievements in litigation against its adversaries which are typically national law firms.

Michael Posner and Howard Z. Rosen are both members of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a professional association honoring the leading lawyers nationwide in the practice of labor and employment law. Only 3 percent of practicing employment law attorneys are members of this organization. Michael Posner is also a member of the governing board of the American Bar Association's section on Labor and Employment Law. Of the 22,000 lawyers currently practicing labor and employment law, fewer than 40 serve on the governing board. This honor is only given to lawyers who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to the practice of employment and labor law.

Howard Z. Rosen is one of two attorneys who serve on the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law publications committee. This committee is responsible for all the American Bar Association's publications on labor and employment law. As a result, Mr. Rosen devotes a considerable portion of his time keeping up-to-date on the latest developments in Employment and Labor Law.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:
Comfort Level - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
Credentials - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
Cost - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
City - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?
