Weaver, Bennett & Bland, P.A. was formed on February 1, 1982 to provide the highest quality legal services to individuals and companies throughout North Carolina but particularly in southeastern Mecklenburg and western Union Counties. The Matthews law firm serves a diverse range of clients which include several major banking institutions, many local and national corporations (both public and private), and individuals with diverse business interests

The firm places particular emphasis on (a) prosecution and resolution of commercial disputes; (b) negotiation and documentation of real estate and business transactions; (c) all aspects of land use development, regulation, and permitting; (d) work-out and restructuring of real estate and corporate lending relationships; (e) mergers and acquisitions; (f) pursuit of legal and medical malpractice claims; (g) serious personal injury or wrongful death cases; (h) domestic and family matters; (i) disputes over all types of property rights; (j) estate planning and estate administration; and (k) bankruptcy matters (both as to debtors and creditors). Matters handled by the firm also include the evaluation and resolution of loan relationships, real estate disputes, partnership disagreements, and business disruption claims. The firm prides itself on its ability to provide practical legal advice. The firm counsels its clients at all stages of the most complex business transactions, including guidance designed to avoid controversies before they occur and developing solutions once controversies may begin. Weaver, Bennett & Bland, P.A. provides its individual and business clients with all of the services necessary for their regular business activities.

The firm is active in all areas of civil litigation. Firm lawyers regularly appear on behalf of clients in both Superior and District Courts throughout North Carolina as well as in the federal District and Bankruptcy Courts and state and federal appellate courts. The firm also regularly represents clients in arbitrations and mediations throughout North Carolina.

In connection with our clients’ business matters, the firm regularly structures, negotiates, documents and closes all types of real estate and corporate transactions. The firm’s staff is presently comprised of eight attorneys, an office manager, four legal assistants and numerous dedicated support personnel.
