In 1996, Cary E. Hiltgen and Michael W. Brewer merged their Oklahoma City law practices to form Hiltgen & Brewer, P.C. ("H&B"). Both brought with them years of experience in Insurance Law, Products Liability Law, Transportation Law and Litigation. The primary focus of H&B is to provide trial and litigation expertise to self-insured and insured clients who are not satisfied with the current legal climate. In essence, their goal is to provide fast and effective results at a reasonable rate, with the emphasis on reasonable and results .

These efforts yielded a law firm with tremendous jury trial experience in state and federal courts of not only Oklahoma but many other state and federal jurisdictions. With underpinnings based on a national products liability practice and a local tort and insurance practice, the Firm has evolved to include Employment Law, Subrogation, Insurance Coverage, Workers' Compensation and Business and Commercial Law practices, among others. H&B boasts many rising stars in the trial practice. While many lawyers call themselves litigators, H&B lawyers take pride in being trial lawyers. With the guideline that rarely is a client satisfied with a settlement on the courthouse steps, H&B lawyers continually take cases to trial completion or a dismissal at the courthouse steps. Realistic evaluations and regular reporting to clients have enhanced the Firm's reputation as a communicator and client satisfaction has skyrocketed. The Firm lawyers have dedicated themselves to the delivery of legal services with professionalism, ethics and the highest standards of integrity. As a result, H&B has continued to take on new clients who were dissatisfied with their previous representation. H&B has received an AV rating and is also listed in Best's Directory of Recommended Insurance Attorneys.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:
Comfort Level - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
Credentials - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
Cost - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
City - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?
