Salem Divorce Lawyers

When emotions are involved in a legal matter, you need an attorney who can take a practical approach to your legal concerns while remaining sympathetic toward the emotions you are experiencing.

At Porcello Law Offices in Salem and Gloucester, our lawyers provide practical solutions to legal issues. If you require attention to a family law issue, such as a child custody dispute, or civil litigation matter, such as a breach of contract, you may be speaking about very personal and private matters. Our lawyers fill a critical role by fostering a confidential relationship with every client. You can have the utmost confidence that your attorney will treat your case with the care, respect and resourcefulness it requires.

A Tradition of Devotion Since 1975

Your legal matter is important to us. Work with a law firm devoted to you. Attorney Jean G. Porcello-Giusto and attorney Anthony S. Porcello are siblings. Their father, A. John Porcello, practiced in the local area since 1975. Chances are if you walked down the street in Gloucester, you have seen the office - it's been there since 1978. Anthony now works out of this office and handles primarily civil litigation. The Salem office was established in 1993. Jean and attorney Lindsey A. Dulkis Patten work out of this office and handle family law cases. As full-time attorneys, we can give our clients the representation they deserve.

Divorce Without the Drama

Often couples can divorce in an amicable fashion without adversity and by agreement on all issues. When a couple wishes to do so, we can represent one of the parties in preparing a Joint Petition for Divorce, and all other supporting paperwork necessary to get the parties divorced at a low cost. These types of uncontested divorces can often be completed for as little as $2,000.

Military Discount

At Porcello Law Offices, we are strong supporters of our military and feel that we should give to those who serve our country. We offer active service members, members of the military reserves, and members of the National Guard, who are Massachusetts residents, a discounted legal rate.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:
Comfort Level - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
Credentials - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
Cost - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
City - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?
