Founded in 1962, Loughlin FitzGerald, P.C. is an 11-lawyer firm with offices in Wallingford and Hamden, Connecticut .  While concentrating heavily in civil litigation, we maintain a comprehensive practice on a statewide basis.  The firm serves as panel defense counsel for several insurance companies and represents numerous self-insured corporations and entities in a wide variety of matters.  The firm's expertise extends from personal and commercial lines defense and insurance coverage, to complex commercial disputes, medical malpractice, product liability, toxic torts, aviation, sports and leisure, as well as employment and municipal litigation.  Consistent with the belief that defense counsel must remain current on all aspects of the law, and that the best way to do so is through diversification, the firm does not limit its practice solely to litigation matters.  Moreover, we are proud of the fact that, although not part of a large firm, our members come from a broad range of backgrounds, with highly varied experiences.  As illustrated in the following pages, although diverse, our members share exceptional qualifications and legal experience, as well as an uncompromising dedication to serving the needs of our clients and the law.  

Our philosophy is to provide effective and practical legal advice and service to our clients and their insurers in the most cost-efficient manner.  We place a premium on client service, as well as achieving common-sense and economical solutions to litigation.  We take pride in our success of favorably disposing of cases at the pretrial stage, through our expertise in effective settlement discussions, mediations and arbitrations.  Our reputation is such that many of our attorneys are sought after by the Courts, insurance companies, lawyers and private parties to act as arbitrators and mediators.  In addition, we have achieved an uncommon record of winning cases on behalf of clients through dispositive, pre-trial motions, which is a reflection of our commitment to creative and effective legal analysis and argumentation.  At trial, our litigation attorneys have an impressive record of favorable verdicts that demonstrate our effective advocacy before juries and the Courts.  Finally, our appellate attorneys extend our expertise and success through the final stages of litigation, as reflected in the results we have obtained before various appellate courts.
